Wish Luck the name given to a plant by a Zulu nursery keeper.
We were visiting his nursery on the occasion of our wedding anniversary many years ago and were looking for a suitable plant to honour the day. He suggested this one. He told us that in their culture it was considered a very lucky plant and was given to people who had to travel away from home.
We have had it in two gardens without it blooming at all. But happily here in this sandy garden it has lost its luscious leaves but produced the prettiest of flowers.
God enriches the soul which empties itself of everything. St Pio Italian priest and mystic – 20th Century.
